Book A ConsultationRaw diamonds are diamonds that are in their natural state — organic, unpolished, uncut — totally raw. We carry a full range of rustic diamonds, from the popular natural colored rose cuts (round and fancy shapes), earthy rough diamond cubes, to irregular formed bort diamonds, to uncut octahedron rough diamonds.
Today’s engagement rings and jewelry continue to evolve, especially, with the eclectic mix of raw diamonds and fancy colored rose cuts. These elegant natural rough diamonds are the inspiration behind the exclusive collection of Todd Reed jewelry and our own studio collection pieces. Below is a guide to the rustic diamonds available in our San Diego store.
NATURAL COLORED DIAMONDS
Available in almost every color imaginable these diamonds are raw in color with zero treatment. Tiny foreign particles are trapped during the diamond crystallization process and these trace minerals produce the varying color hues, as well as the different color intensities. Natural colored diamonds have not been color treated in any way and are considered to be unique one-of-a-kind gems. The majority of designers are incorporating these diamonds in the classic rose cut faceting patterns and are available in round, cushion, oval, pear, marquise and emerald cut shapes.
RAW DIAMOND CUBES
Cubic form, uncut and unpolished. Typically found in the dark grey and dark olive colors ranging in millimeter sizes from 1mm and up.
OCTAHEDRON DIAMONDS
The Octahedron diamond is raw, untouched
and straight from the mine. By definition, an octahedron diamond has eight (8) triangle shaped surfaces that form two (2) pyramids base to base. They are natural rough diamonds that are created deep in the earth crust under extreme heat and pressure. The landscape for jewelry innovation is changing, and at the forefront are designers and customers falling in love with the natural character of diamond octahedrons. We are proud to offer the San Diego community a unique assortment of rough diamonds.
